At 12:01 a.m. Monday, Melissa Torres -- all 7 pounds and 20 inches of her -- made her grand debut as the year's first Tarrant County baby. She was born at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth to Rogelio Torres and Luz Maria Tavera.
At Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine, Micayla Erin Carriker, daughter of Michael and Christine, arrived at 1:16 a.m. The bundle of joy measured 19 1/4 inches and weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces.
At 6:39 a.m. at Harris Methodist Fort Worth hospital, Hunter Ty Byerley was born, weighing in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces and measuring 21 1/2 inches long. His parents are Jessica Mock and Gary Byerley.
At 1:58 p.m., Audrey Marie Boothe, 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 20 inches long, was born to Paul and Tina at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Most area hospitals reported at least one birth by early afternoon.
